Who uses Core™ Travel?
Core™ Travel is for companies that want to provide automatic and
customizable travel insurance for every person in their group. It's perfect
for organizations that send participants, staff, students, volunteers or
customers on travel programs, or that help them manage their travel.
Sorry--despite the number of much-appreciated requests that we have
received from travelers who would like to use Core™ Travel again on their
own, our coverage is not available to individuals, only to groups.
What is the point of Core Travel?
Travel insurance that combines a standard of coverage with satisfaction for
every group traveler—along with risk management, good pricing, and ease
for the organizations that buy it.
What is the process?
Once a company has set up a group travel insurance policy with Core™
Travel, they download their travel program details onto the Core™ Travel
Platform.
Then each of their travelers can log in directly to their individualized Core
Travel Profile. That's what travelers are doing right now from the red button
on our home page.
At their Travel Profile, travelers can see the coverage that has been
arranged for them by their organization. They can print their ID card and
buy insurance upgrades, additions, or extensions. They can locate FAQ,
claims, and contact information.
The Core Travel Insurance Platform is a great resource for all parties
involved. The traveler finds detail on their automatic coverage and the
convenience of upgrades there.
The organization can use the Platform to manage their information,
manually or by API, and only have to give their travelers the Core™ Travel
Platform address.
Providers such as the Travel Medical Assistance company or the Claims
Administrator also use the Platform. They can get up-to-the-minute status
on any traveler’s coverage and eligibility to offer immediate assistance.
How do the upgrades work?
A basic "core" package of insurance is automatic for everyone insured
within the group. This way any traveler who doesn't want to think another
minute about travel insurance doesn't have to.
But their organization will know that important basic travel insurance
coverage is in effect for everyone...while making it simple for travelers to
buy additional travel insurance if they wish.
Upgrades relate to the “core” coverage and are easy to understand. They
are offered in combinations that travelers can pick and choose. Purchases
are made in minutes right on the platform. Coverage updates immediately
in the Travel Profile.
The upgrade system reduces confusion and hassle for the traveler. No
need to decipher and manage different sets of travel insurance policies
anymore.
Offering choice in travel insurance creates a risk management benefit for
the organization, whether travelers choose to upgrade or not.
It's also a
way of accommodating personal taste, cultural differences and variations in
travel plans from traveler to traveler with ease— at no extra cost or
administration for the sponsoring organization.
What kinds of upgrades are available?
Here are some examples:
What if a traveler has to cancel a program that they paid for well in
advance? Trip Cancellation options can address that.
What if the destination country is known for having higher medical costs?
Adjust the level of Medical Expense Benefit coverage before departure.
What if the destination is particularly far from home? A higher Trip
Interruption Benefit limit could really help, for example, with a quick return
on a costly ticket.
What about problems that occur while traveling? Transit benefits that
address risks like Lost Baggage or Flight Delay or Missed Connections
can really help with those inconveniences.
What if a traveler wanted to continue their coverage overseas? Add
coverage to either end of their program dates for Travel Time Extension,
so that another insurance policy wouldn’t have to be obtained.
Organizations decide about the Core™ packages and upgrades to offer;
travelers decide individually on how to use the upgrades and can buy them
independently right at the Platform.
